This pinkhued pétillant-naturel wine with brash acidity is more fun than we deserve. Crushed strawberries and sunflowers paint an aromatic picture made even more irresistible by notes of thyme and rose petals. Flavors of candied nectarines, saline and juniper berries rub up against a chalky texture.

Love & Squalor “Pet Matt” pét-nat is a delicious sparkling sensation. This bottle is 100% Cab Franc rosé (so it’s pink!), bottle fermented and disgorged. Every bottle touched at least 20 times! It is a labor of love (& a bit squalid). It sparkles in the glass AND on your tongue. This rosé of Cab Franc is ripe fruit and a zing of tart. It has a touch of residual sugar with enhances a nice round palate.

Commonly known as pet-nat, these naturally sparkling wines are the ancestral kin of méthode Champenoise where the wine finishes its primary fermentation in the bottle, trapping carbon dioxide and a sediment of yeast lees. This winemaking style is known as méthode ancestral, which produces a simpler, more rustic sparkling wine than Champagne. Where Champagne is typically crystal clear, pét-nats can sometimes be a little cloudy. These wines have been disgorged of that sediment. It is unfined and unfiltered, and sealed with a crown cap, rather than a cork and cage.
